Ray's Tire & Service, Inc. was established in 1982. Raymond Usher was the original founder & owner. Ray was a former 20 year employee of the Goodyear Tire company and managed its first store in St. Augustine, located at 236 West King Street. In 1969 Goodyear opened a new store to facilitate the growth of St. Augustine at 149 King Street. Goodyear closed the original smaller location and moved Ray to manage their new store.
In 1982, after a successful 20-year career with Goodyear, Ray Usher opened his own Goodyear franchise store at its current location at 1375 US 1 South. Now known as Ray's Tire and Service Centers Inc., this family owned third-generation business carries on the tradition of outstanding service at a fair and honest price. Ray Usher & his wife Merial retired from the family business in October of 2003. Current owners Dean & Susan Petty carry on the family tradition of Ray's Tire & Service along with their son Jacob Petty (Ray's Grandson).
In October of 2006 Ray's Tire & Service opened a second location located at 845 SR-207 to meet the needs of the commercial side of their business. Ray's Tire & Service Commercial Center is a vital part of the growing commercial needs in St. Augustine.
Ray's Tire & service and Ray's Tire commercial center currently have 25 full-time employees. We can handle any tire needs you have, from your lawn mower to your front-end loader. We stock over 3,000 tires and carry over 20 brands. We also employ 8 ASE certified technicians at both locations. We can service or repair your family car and your motor home.
